Meet Myra Blackwelder, Junior Golf Coach in Nicholasville, KY

Myra Blackwelder played full-time on the LPGA Tour for 13 seasons, 1980 to 1992, and was named Golf Digest/Rolex LPGA Rookie of the Year in 1980. In 1975 she became the first woman to receive a full athletic scholarship at the University of Kentucky. At Kentucky she won 10 collegiate tournaments and 2 Kentucky State Amateur titles. She led the University of Kentucky women's golf team from 2007 to 2010, and in those seasons the team broke the school's scoring record and made its first postseason appearance in 9 years.

She has taught hundreds of junior players, and several of her students won national events in junior and amateur golf before playing at major universities. Reviewers say she makes the complicated simple by breaking a problem down into a couple of swing thoughts.
