What should my child work on before playing tournaments?

Competitive play asks for more than good technique. Areas worth working on include managing emotions, sticking to a simple plan and making smart choices when a shot goes wrong. It also helps to understand scoring, pace of play and how to handle a ruling. Reviewing each event afterward, including what went well, turns the experience into useful practice.

What is the difference between an academy and individual lessons?

Individual lessons offer close attention and quick adjustments for your golfer, while an academy adds routine, friendly competition and more time hitting shots. Neither is right for everyone. Think about your child's personality, how much structure they enjoy and what they want from golf. A coach can help you decide which setting fits, and the answer may change over time.
