What should parents look for in a junior golf coach?
Look for someone who enjoys teaching children and can explain ideas in simple terms. A good coach keeps lessons active, gives clear feedback and adjusts the pace to the player. Watch how your child responds during and after a session. If they come home curious and eager to practice, that is a strong sign the match is working.
How do lessons prepare a player for tournaments?
Good preparation goes well beyond the swing. Lessons can cover course management, a steady pre-shot routine and how to recover after a bad hole. Coaches often design practice that adds a little pressure, such as scoring games around the green. Learning the rules and etiquette ahead of time also helps a young player feel calm when it counts.
