About

Training for juniors who compete

Putting sits at the center of training for juniors who compete, with the short game and mental approach working beside it. Derek Uyeda created his own method for putting, pairing advanced analytics with visual feedback, and he designed it for winning at the highest competitive levels. He helped guide PGA Tour player Xander Schauffele to two major championship wins in 2024.

FAQ

Questions parents ask

Where is CAMPUS Academy Del Mar?

CAMPUS Academy Del Mar is at The Grand Golf Club (Fairmont Grand Del Mar), 5200 Grand Del Mar Way, San Diego, CA 92130.

Should my child take private lessons too?

Some players benefit from both. Academy sessions give regular practice and time with other juniors; a private lesson lets a coach focus on one thing, like a swing change. If you do both, make sure each coach knows what the other is working on.

What should we ask when we visit?

Ask how big the groups are, how players are placed by level, and who will coach your child. Ask what a typical session looks like and how progress is shared with parents. If the academy allows it, watch a session first and see how your child reacts.
