About
Meet Connor Holmes, Junior Golf Coach in West Nyack, NY
Connor Holmes starts by understanding a student's current game, including scores, other sports and injuries, to build an individualized plan. He believes no single swing suits every golfer and looks for a method and game plan matched to each student. To help students grasp what is going on in their swing, he uses technology, video and training aids.
Connor teaches cause-and-effect fundamentals, aimed at playing the game in a more enjoyable way and not only hitting the ball. Reviewers find his explanations clear and easy to understand, and say he picks out small adjustments that make a difference.

Where does Connor teach?
Connor Holmes teaches at Manhattan Woods Golf Club in West Nyack, NY.
How far apart should lessons be?
Consistency matters more than volume. Lessons spaced far apart make it hard to remember what was covered, while lessons packed too closely leave little room to practice. Ask the coach to suggest a rhythm that fits your child's goals and energy, then adjust it as interest grows or as competition becomes part of the picture.
At what age can a child start golf lessons?
Readiness matters more than a birthday. A child is usually ready when they can follow simple instructions, stay focused on a short activity and show real interest in hitting balls. Early lessons for young beginners should feel like play, with lots of movement and quick tasks. If your child enjoys it and asks to go back, the timing is right.
