How can lessons help a player who hopes to play college golf?
Lessons can help a motivated player sharpen skills and build habits that college programs value, such as discipline and self-management. It also helps to get a candid read on the player's current level, so the family can set sensible targets. College coaches generally weigh tournament scoring, academics and attitude, so a balanced plan looks beyond golf alone.
How do you choose the right coach for your child?
Start with fit. Children learn more from someone they like and trust, so notice if the coach listens, stays patient and speaks to your child directly rather than only to you. Ask how lessons are planned and how progress is shared with parents. A calm, organized approach and a friendly manner count for a great deal with young players.
