How can parents keep track of a child's progress?
Watch for gradual signs rather than big jumps, such as cleaner contact, a better sense of what to practice, or calmer reactions to a poor shot. Brief notes kept at home make progress easier to spot. Coaches can point to changes in technique and scores from practice games. If you are unsure, ask the coach to explain the current goals and how they plan to measure them.
What part do lessons play in preparing for college golf?
Lessons can play a steady, practical part. They give a player regular time to develop reliable skills, get ready for tournaments and learn from each round. Families can also read up on how college recruiting works, so they know which questions to ask. Roster decisions rest with college coaches, but good guidance makes it easier to set goals that match a player's ability and interests.
