How can parents keep track of a child's progress?
Watch for gradual signs rather than big jumps, such as cleaner contact, a better sense of what to practice, or calmer reactions to a poor shot. Brief notes kept at home make progress easier to spot. Coaches can point to changes in technique and scores from practice games. If you are unsure, ask the coach to explain the current goals and how they plan to measure them.
How can lessons support a path to college golf?
Coaching can help a player build the skills college golf asks for: sound technique, a reliable short game, good course management and composure in competition. A coach can also help a player choose suitable events and set realistic goals. Academics and conduct matter to college programs as well, so they deserve steady attention. Every path looks different, and honest feedback about a player's level helps families plan wisely.
